The Meaning of Marriage: Free Study Guide
Have you read Timothy & Kathy Keller’s book, “The Meaning of Marriage”? It’s an excellent book on the subject of marriage. While we are not affiliated with the Keller’s or Redeemer church, we have compiled an unofficial study guide that may be used with the book. This study is being downloaded more and more every day here on our blog as well the LifeChurch.tv Life Group resources page. While it’s been specifically designed for use in small group environments, married couples may also benefit from discussing the material their own.
Feel free to use this study material in the best way you see fit. That said, we want to let you know that we have incorporated 8 messages on the subject of marriage into the study, including some from Timothy Keller himself. Therefore, be sure to check out everything you need below.
Study Material:
The Meaning of Marriage (Participant’s Guide): This is a the regular study guide for nearly all who wish to go through the study.
The Meaning of Marriage (Leader’s Guide): This is a copy of the same material with additional leader’s notes included. This will be best utilized by those who are facilitating discussion in a small group setting.
Audio Files: This link will allow you to download all of the messages that we have found freely elsewhere. However, there are two great messages by Timothy Keller that are only available to be purchased online. The cost for these 2 messages is $5. However, as the entire series is excellent, we would recommend spending $20 for all 9 messages. Whatever you decide, the two messages you’ll need for this study are:
1. Marriage as Ministry Power
2. Overview, Marriage as Commitment
These messages, or the entire series, may be purchased here.
Note:
We have written weekly posts about “The Meaning of Marriage” as part of our ‘Read With Us’ campaign. So, as you read through the book and study material, we’d love for you to chime in with any thoughts you may have about the book, marriage, sex, etc. Thanks for stopping by, and we hope this study will bless your marriage.

I’m on staff at LifeChurch.tv. We recommend The Meaning of Marriage to our LifeGroups on our site, resources.lifechurch.tv. Can we have permission to provide your participant guide and leader guide on the site as well?
Absolutely. Would you like us to provide it to you in Word as well?
We are also doing a study on Tim Keller’s “The Meaning of Marriage” book in September, 2013. I was going to start preparing for it now (March, 2013) and came across this study guide. What a blessing! Thank you so much for sharing this. Could I have the Word version and permission to use? Colleen Shue, Counselor, Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Cape Coral, Fl
Sure! We’ll send you an email soon. Thanks for choosing to use the study!
